How to Get LeagueApps Schedules on a Skylight Calendar

A Skylight Calendar doesn't take calendar links directly — it displays the Google, Apple, or Outlook calendars connected to it. So the play is: get the LeagueApps feed, put it in a calendar Skylight mirrors, done. Multi-kid families: merge first, subscribe once.

⏱ Takes about 8 minutes

The steps

  1. 1

Get your LeagueApps calendar link. Sign in to your LeagueApps site, open your player's team or program page, and use the calendar-sync/subscribe option to copy the iCal/webcal URL. (Full walkthrough: our LeagueApps calendar link guide.)

  2. 2

Paste it into Schedule Caddie (free). Add Schedule → paste the link. Add the other kids' feeds and the school PDF while you're there — the point is one family calendar, not another silo. Copy the merged All Events URL from Subscribe & Share.

  3. 3

Paste the URL into the Skylight app (or subscribe via Google/Apple). Skylight subscribes to calendar feed URLs directly (per its support docs): in the Skylight app, My Skylight menu → Synced Calendars → Sync new calendar → Calendar URL → paste → Done. Prefer the feed mirrored in your phone calendar too? Subscribe Google (web: + next to “Other calendars” → From URL), Apple (Settings → Apps → Calendar → Add Subscribed Calendar), or Outlook (Add calendar → Subscribe from web) — the Skylight displays connected calendars as well.

  4. 4

Toggle it on for the Skylight. In the Skylight app, confirm the account and the specific calendar are enabled for display. From then on: LeagueApps → Schedule Caddie → your calendar → the kitchen wall, automatically — with an email to you when anything moves.

If something's not working

Events show on my phone's calendar but not the Skylight

The calendar is synced but not enabled for display. In the Skylight app's calendar settings, toggle on the specific calendar (not just the account).

A rescheduled game still shows the old time on the wall

Layered lag: LeagueApps updates the feed, Google re-reads it on a lazy cycle (often 12–24h), then Skylight follows Google. It self-corrects — but nothing in that chain notifies you. Schedule Caddie checks the same feed every hour and emails you exactly what changed, so the wall being briefly stale doesn't burn you.

Multiple kids, multiple leagues — the Skylight looks chaotic

Feed the wall ONE merged calendar instead of five raw feeds — color-coding and filtering happen upstream in Schedule Caddie, and the Skylight shows one coherent family schedule.

Frequently asked questions

Does Skylight take an iCal URL directly?

Skylight's calendar is built around mirroring Google, Apple, and Outlook accounts — the reliable route is subscribing the feed in one of those, then letting the Skylight display it.

Will changes reach the wall automatically?

Yes, eventually — the chain re-syncs itself. The catch is silence and lag: no link in the chain tells you a practice moved. Pair the wall with change-alert emails and you hear about it the hour it happens.

Can I put the raw LeagueApps URL straight into the Skylight (or Google) and skip the merge?

You can — it works for a single team. What you give up: the other kids' feeds and the school calendar merged alongside, dedupe, and the change-alert emails that tell you a game moved (Google absorbs feed changes silently). Since the Skylight only mirrors what Google shows, the merge upstream is what makes the wall trustworthy.

How current are these steps?

Verified against LeagueApps' feed behavior and Skylight's calendar-mirroring model as of September 2026. If something moved, tell us and we'll fix this page.
