The Skylight on your kitchen wall is only as good as the calendars feeding it. The underused superpower: Skylight can subscribe to a calendar feed URL directly in its app — so the whole job is getting every team, league, and school schedule into one feed worth pasting. Here's the clean setup, whether you have one kid on one team or three kids on five apps.
Understand the two routes onto a Skylight. A Skylight Calendar displays the Google, Apple, or Outlook calendars you've connected — and, per Skylight's own support docs, it can also subscribe to a calendar feed URL (.ics link) directly in the Skylight app. That second route is the shortcut this page uses: get every schedule into one feed, hand the Skylight that one link, done.
Merge everything in Schedule Caddie. Paste every team app's calendar link into Schedule Caddie (free — our per-app guides cover 20+ platforms), and upload the schedules that have no link: the school PDF, the photographed practice sheet. You get one merged, daily-refreshed calendar covering every kid, plus an email whenever a time changes.
Copy your Schedule Caddie feed link. In Schedule Caddie, open Subscribe & Share. The All Events card at the top is your default feed — the whole family in one subscription. Tap Copy next to the Subscription URL.
Paste it into the Skylight app. In the Skylight app (phone or computer): My Skylight menu (upper right) → Synced Calendars → Sync new calendar → Calendar URL → paste your Schedule Caddie feed link → Done. That's the whole hookup — no Google account required in the middle. (Steps per Skylight's support documentation; their labels occasionally shift between app versions.)
Prefer everything mirrored in Google, Apple, or Outlook? That works too. The classic route still works if you want your phone calendar to hold the same feed: subscribe Google (web: + next to "Other calendars" → From URL), Apple (Settings → Apps → Calendar → Add Subscribed Calendar), or Outlook (Add calendar → Subscribe from web) to the link, then toggle that calendar on for display in the Skylight app. Same wall, one extra hop.
A game moved but the Skylight still shows the old time
Subscribed feeds refresh on the display's own schedule — Skylight doesn't publish an interval for URL-synced calendars, and if you routed through Google/Apple, those add a 12–24-hour hop of their own. The wall will catch up — but if you want to KNOW about the change today, that's what Schedule Caddie's change-alert emails are for: they fire when the source changes, not when the wall repaints.
The school calendar is a PDF, and nothing can subscribe to a PDF
Correct — this is where Skylight's Magic Import (part of the $79/year Plus plan) or Schedule Caddie's free upload come in. Ours extracts the dates and shows you a review grid before anything is committed, then the events ride the same merged feed to your Skylight.
Events show up doubled on the display
You're probably feeding the same team twice — once as a direct subscription and once inside a merged feed. Pick one route per team: either the app's own link straight into Google, or the Schedule Caddie merged feed, not both.

You can — Skylight will take each app's feed URL directly. The merged-feed route earns its keep when there are several kids on several apps (one feed to manage instead of five), when a schedule only exists as a PDF or a photo (those have no link to paste), and because Schedule Caddie emails you what changed — the wall display updates silently.
